Galway GAA Write To FIFA Requesting World Cup Final Change

Next Sunday promises to be the ultimate day for sports fans all over the world.

Not only have you the Wimbledon Singles Men’s Final but you also have the World Cup Final and the highly anticipated Super 8’s clash  between Galway and Kerry. The only issue is that the two latter games begin at the same time – 4pm.

To avoid anyone having to miss a minute of the action, Galway GAA have written to FIFA requesting that the change the kick-off time of the final.

The letter suggests that the kick-off time be moved from 4pm to 6pm, thus avoiding any clashes while still wrapping up the World Cup Final in time to watch The Sunday Game that night.

“If this clash is not addressed by FIFA then your worldwide audience will be diminished as many of the supporters will give priority to attending and watching the Galway V Kerry game.”

It was announced during the week that Galway will face Kerry in the first round of the Super 8’s on Sunday at 4pm while Dublin and Donegal will go head-to-head in Croke Park the evening before at 7pm.
