Breaking: Davy Fitzgerald To Remain With The Wexford Hurlers

The Wexford county board have announced today that Davy Fitzgerald will remain at the helm for the 2019 season.

Fitzgerald has come under pressure due to a disappointing Championship campaign which saw them exit at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Clare and they were unable to reach the Leinster final which was competed by Galway and Kilkenny.

He was able to guide his side to retain their Division 1A status for next season but according to reports, Fitzgerald took time to consider his position due to the long commute he undertakes as part of the job.

However, Fitzgerland will remain in place for a third successive season which was confirmed this morning.

Official confirmation: Wexford GAA Davy to remain at the realm of Wexford Senior Hurling for another year : Wexford GAA County Board today (14 August 2018) is delighted to announce that Davy Fitzgerald has committed to continue in his role as manager of the senior hurling team for 2019.
