Hurling for Cancer, the annual hurling charity match will return to St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge this evening with stars from the GAA, racing, rugby and the television world set to take part.
Organisers, Jim Bolger and Davy Russell have roped in a number of top personalities including Ollie Canning, John Mullane, Tommy Walsh, Anna Geary, Peter Canavan, Stephen Hunt and Niall Quinn.
Liam Griffin and Brian Cody will be taking over management duties while the match officials will include Miriam O’Callaghan, Tadhg Furlong and Katie Walsh. The legendary duo of Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh and Seán Bán Breathnach will be on commentary for the game.
The event, which began in 2012, has raised over €700,000 for various projects for the Irish Cancer Society.
Thousands are expected to attend tonight’s game with tickets still available on the gate and are priced at €10.
Throw-in at St Conleth’s Park is 6pm.
