An estimated 80k to 90,000 strong crowd meant that the Limerick hurling team took their time getting from Colbert Station to the Gaelic Grounds.
The stadium steadily filled up for hours in anticipation of the arrival home for the stars that claimed the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

After an open-top bus tour through the city, they arrived at their home ground at around a quarter to eight.

The reception the players, including Tom and Dan Morrissey, received was incredible, as a 45 year wait to see the Liam MacCarthy on Shannonside was finally over.
