Carlow have recorded their first Championship victory over Kildare since 1953 which has seen them secure their passage into the Leinster Senior Championship semi-final.
The Barrowsiders will now take on Laois in Croke Park which should be an excellent game at GAA HQ.
Turlough O’Brien’s won out on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-10 in a truly dominating performance and their accuracy in the forwards is what was most impressive as they didn’t kick one wide throughout the 70 minutes.
The semi-final between Carlow and Laois will take place on the 10 June at 2 pm.
Here are some of the scenes at the final whistle and it just shows how much this victory means to Carlow supporters.

The result is all the more impressive when you consider that Carlow were playing in Division 4 during the Spring and Kildare were in Division 1.
The winner of Kildare and Laois, who will contest next month’s semi-final, will guarantee a spot in the ‘Super 8’ which will be a great boost to either county to play top-quality opposition later in the summer.
Paul Broderick was Carlow’s standout performer as he hit 10 points (two from play) which kept the Barrowsiders ticking along throughout the game.
