The first All-Ireland final song has been released ahead of next week’s crucial meeting of Dublin and Mayo.
The song ‘Bring Sam Home’ by Avril Rushe features some highlights of previous championship action as well as charting the struggles of the 66-year wait for the Connacht county in their pursuit of a fourth All-Ireland title.
Mayo have been in a remarkable eight All-Ireland finals since 1989 but haven’t won a single one, losing out by a point to the Dubs in last year’s replay.
As Stephen Rochford’s men look to get their revenge and end the curse, this song shows the passion and pride of their support through all the strife.
Andy Moran, Cillian O’Connor, Lee Keegan and the likes will have to be on top form if they are to stop Dublin’s quest for three in a row, but with this catchy tune to cheer them on it may finally be time that Mayo’s long wait to bring Sam Maguire back to the west finally comes to an end.
We’re sure the song below will have all outside of Dublin looking forward to next Sunday’s encounter. The green and red of Mayo is definitely burning still.
