Cork GAA have announced that Darragh Fitzgibbon of Charleville will captain the Cork senior hurling team for the upcoming season, with Blarney’s Mark Coleman appointed vice-captain.
The appointments signal a focused and progressive leadership approach as Cork aim to build on their successful 2025 and end the 21-year long wait for All-Ireland glory.
Fitzgibbon has been one of Cork’s most influential performers in recent seasons. Operating at the heart of the field, he brings composure, drive, and an ability to dictate the tempo of games. Darragh Fitzgibbon has big shoes to fill when it comes to the Cork captaincy
He takes over from Rob Downey, who captained Cork with distinction and professionalism.
