The Déise are ringing in the changes in both codes.
Derek McGrath stepped down from the managerial role of the Waterford Senior Hurling team in June, after they failed to emerge from the Munster Senior Championship.
In football, Tom McGlinchey then resigned the month after, having guided them to a first Championship win since 2011 with victory over Wexford.
These vacancies have been open throughout the summer, but two replacements have now been ratified.
Pauric Fanning will take up the mantle for the hurling panel, while Benji Whelan steps into the equivalent role for the footballers.
Congratulations to Pauric Fanning who has been appointed as Waterford Senior Hurling Manager for 2019!
Also to Benji Whelan who has been elected as Waterford Senior Football Manager for 2019!

Mattie Kenny and Pat Ryan were also in the frame for the hurling post, but it is Fanning, formerly of Wexford and Laois, who gets the nod. His selectors are James Murray and Pa Kearney.
Benji Whelan pf Kilmacthomas has led Nire/Fourmilewater to two county senior football titles in recent seasons, but faces an altogether greater task at inter-county level.
From everyone at the club we would like to congratulate Benji Whelan who has tonight been ratified as the new @WaterfordGAA Senior Football manager.
