Defiant Kildare Statement Says That They Won’t Play In Croker

The Kildare boss has doubled down on the fact that his side will not be playing their All Ireland qualifier round-3 clash with Mayo in Croke Park after the county’s official Twitter page posted a statement.

The Kildare camp do not seem to be backing down on as the GAA turn up the heat on attempting to force them to play their matchup with last year’s finalists Mayo in Croke Park rather in St. Conleth’s Park in Newbridge.

Kildare’s name came out first when the draw was made – supposedly giving them the home advantage – but after concerns were raised over the suitability of Newbridge’s venue for the numbers expected, the alternative – Dublin’s Croke Park – was scheduled.

The Kildare camp were obviously annoyed at this change-up and posted the following statement to their official Twitter:

Manager Cian O’Neill appeared on RTE News to address the situation and doubled down on the statement offered by the Kildare GAA social media page.
