Fermanagh GAA Twitter Admin Announces Late Arrival To Club Final By Blaming His Cow

The Fermanagh Senior Football League Division 1 final between Devenish and Ederney took place tonight, with Devenish running out one-point winners 1-12 to 1-11.

For those not in attendance in Eniskillen tonight and wanting to keep up with the game, there wasn’t a peep coming live from the fixture via Twitter, which would have been frustrating.

Scheduled for a 7 p.m. throw-in, Ederney had built a 1-04 to 0-06 lead by the time the person running the Fermanagh GAA Twitter account had been in a position to provide an update. 23 minutes into the game, if wasn’t that there was nothing of note happening on the field, the admin admitted their tardiness.

The reason given for their late arrival to the game has to be the most Irish excuse ever…

Caught up at the farm calving, it’s a miracle the admin was able to make the game at all.

While Devenish go home to celebrate their victory, this is a game that will probably be widely more remembered for the late arrival of the social media update broadcaster.

The apology was accepted and there was indeed plenty of concern for the well being of both the cow and calf.
