Zenit Use Arsenal’s Kit Launch To Remind Everyone Of One Of The Most Bizarre Team Photos Ever

Arsenal Zenit

Arsenal launched their new home kit on Wednesday morning to general satisfaction among the Gunners’ fan base.

It’s difficult to come up with different concepts for a red shirt with new sleeves, but manufacturers Puma have made a valiant effort by adding a collar to this year’s design.

Also, interesting move by Arsenal themselves for filling the photoshoot with a load of players that have been linked with moves away from the club this summer.

However, the real stars of this show are Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg, who noticed a similarity between this:

and something that was cooked up between themselves and Nike in 2015 – namely, one of the most bizarre team photos of all time, featuring former manager Andre Villas-Boas and ex-Zenit players Axel Witsel, Salomon Rondon and Andrey Arshavin dressed up in traditional Russian clothes to celebrate winning the league.

If Arsenal are going to pay tribute to Zenit again with their kit launch next year then are going to have to up their game considerably – the five-time Russian champions celebrated their new shirt launch at the beginning of last season by sending some of their players to the Arctic for some reason.

Your move, Arsenal.
