West Ham have offered €20m to AZ Alkamaar to sign Vincent Janssen after losing out to Chelsea for Michy Batshuayi, according to the reliable De Telegraaf.
However, the Hammers move seems to be in vain, as Janssen has rejected a move to Slaven Bilic’s team as well.
Janssen’s stubbornness in his desire to move to Tottenham is admirable, having already turned down a move to French champions Paris Saint Germain.
AZ have been incredibly stubborn themselves in resisting several advances from Tottenham for their star man, but are now looking for replacements.
Lillestrom striker Fred Friday has been touted as Janssen’s successor when the Netherlands forward does eventually move on, presumably to White Hart Lane.
Alkamaar stand to make a whopping €19.5m profit on Janssen, who they signed from Almere City for a mere €500,000 last summer.
