Arsenal could land a hell of a signing next summer if reports in the Daily Star today are to be believed.
Arsene Wenger is apparently closely monitoring the situation of Barcelona B team captain Alex Grimaldo with a view to signing the 20-year-old next summer.
The left-back is reportedly considering a move away from the Nou Camp as he is currently finding opportunities with the first team impossible to come by.
This would not be an entirely new move for Wenger to make having previously poached promising La Masia talents, Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin away from the Spanish club.
Grimaldo is now apparently fed up with rotting with the Barcelona B’s and has no intention of signing a new deal at the Nou Camp. With his current contract due to expire next summer, there should be a number of clubs scrambling to secure the left-back’s signature.
However, given the successful examples of Barcelona youths moving to the Emirates, it seems Arsenal are favourites to land Grimaldo once his current deal runs out.
