Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez have once again shown that Louis van Gaal made very questionable decisions in electing to sell them at Manchester United.
Since arriving at Manchester United, Louis van Gaal has spent over £250 million on transfer acquisitions for the club… and the squad is now arguably weaker than when he first arrived.
The Dutch manager’s side now have just one recognized striker in the squad in the form of Wayne Rooney with Anthony Martial now frequently deployed on the wing.
Since taking charge, the Iron Tulip has bizarrely elected to cull a huge amount of attacking strength from his squad with the likes of Luis Nani, Shinji Kagawa, Danny Welbeck, Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie all deemed surplus to requirements.
Although some of the above are excusable or explicable offences for Van Gaal (with Radamel Falcao once again proving useless for Chelsea while Danny Welbeck is suffering from a long term injury) in most cases, the sales in question are puzzling to say the least.
Nani is tearing the Turkish league apart to such an extent that many are touting him to be named as the Süper Lig’s player of the season.

With 8 goals and 10 assists, Shinji Kagawa has rediscovered his form at Borussia Dortmund and once again, he seems like the player that Sir Alex Ferguson paid €16 million for back in 2012.

Last night, Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez once again reminded Louis van Gaal what he is missing up top. Hernandez has now incredibly scored 19 goals in 22 outings for Bayer Leverkusen and having just been awarded the Bundesliga Hinrunde award (goal of the season at the mid-way point), the Van Gaal ‘reject’ scored two more goals for the German side who were competing in the Florida Cup last night.

Robin van Persie hasn’t been quite as electrifying as Chicharito since leaving for Fenerbahce but, with United so dismal in attack this season, it’s safe to say that, with finishes like this, the Dutchman would still make a very valuable addition to the United squad.
