Angel Gomes is not only viewed as one of the most gifted youngsters in Manchester United’s academy, he is viewed as one of the most talented prospects in English football.
The 17-year-old was already given his first team debut on the 21st of May last season, replacing Wayne Rooney in a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
In August of 2016, Gomes become the youngest player to score a hat-trick for United at academy level since 2001 while he also became the youngest player to ever receive the club’s Jimmy Murphy (young) Player of the Year award last May.
Gomes also played a key role in England’s historic U-17 World Cup win in India last month and, such is his technical ability, size and style of play, the attacking midfielder has already been frequently compared to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
