Arsenal are currently taking on Spurs in the Capital One Cup and a rather rare goal scorer just bagged a brace.
Mathieu Flamini was consistently linked with a move away from the Emirates this season with many feeling the defensive midfielder didn’t have what it takes to remain at the London club.
In fact, most Arsenal supporters were calling for a new defensive signing in the middle of the park as they didn’t even believe Flamini had was good enough to support last season’s revelation, Francis Coquelin.
However, this evening he has proven he still has a lot to offer. After marshaling well in front of the back four, Flamini also followed up in attack and, after a shot from Oxlade-Chamberlain was parried back into the box, the Frenchman finished well to put the Gunners in front at half time.
Then, after an own-goal from Callum Chambers, Flamini once again took the game by the scruff of the neck to fire a fantastic finish that sent Arsenal on their way to a 2-1 win.
Check out the two goals from the most unlikely of scorers below.
