Tottenham Hotspur teammates Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier watched the World Cup group stage draw in each other’s company on Friday afternoon.
Of course, then, their respective countries were drawn in the same group. England will meet Belgium at the group stage in next summer’s tournament in Russia.
Other English internationals in the Spurs squad include Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose while Toby Alderweireld will partner Vertonghen in the centre of the Belgian defence.
Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard, Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and United’s Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini will all represent the Premier League in what promises to be an enthralling encounter between the Roberto Martinez and Gareth Southgate managed teams.
Tunisia and Panama make up the other two teams in Group G.
This leaves England and Belgium heavily favoured as the two nations to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament from this group.
Check out the moment when England were drawn out of the pot summoning them against the Belgians, as Vertonghen and Dier sat right next to each other in the clip below.
