It’s been one of the most shocking and divisive stories in recent sporting memories. Claudio Ranieri was sacked this week just months after achieving the impossible.
Leicester were crowned Premier League in May but this season, they’ve struggled massively domestically despite progressing comfortably to the knockout rounds of the Champions League. The Foxes lie just a point above the relegation zone and are currently in the midst of a dreadful run of form.
After Wednesday’s defeat to Sevilla in the first leg of their European tie, a number of players met the chairman and had Ranieri sacked.
Some have claimed it was the right decision with the side in freefall while most have argued the club could have showed some class to a man who delivered the greatest achievement in sporting history and was clearly getting let down by some players suddenly lacking heart or motivation.
Sky Sports paid tribute to the Italian today with this brilliant video simply entitled “Grazie Claudio“.

It’s stirring images of Ranieri beside Andrea Bocelli as the tenor belted out “Time To Say Goodbye” the day Leicester lifted the title could bring a tear to the eye.
