Despite the fact that he was a stalwart in Chelsea’s title winning side last season, the Blues made the rather strange decision to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United over the summer.
Although some had suggested that Matic was past his best and Chelsea were doing good business by letting him go, the Serbian’s performances since joining Manchester United paint a very different picture.
Although it is still the beginning of the season, Mourinho’s side has had a completely different sense of confidence with Matic in their ranks. In fact, after the best United performance that has been seen in Old Trafford in several years against West Ham on Sunday, the Serbian was rightly named as the Man of the Match.
In fact, after an incredible United display against West Ham on Sunday, the Serbian was rightly named as the Man of the Match with the Sky Sports panel left in utter bewilderment as to why Chelsea elected to sell the midfielder to one of their major Premier League rivals.
