Since parting company with Manchester United in acrimonious circumstances back in 2005, it has only been on very rare occasions that Roy Keane has been complimentary of his former club. However, it seems that the Ireland Assistant Manager sees something in Jose Mourinho’s men this season that has convinced him that they are, once again, back among the very top sides in Europe.

Well, the big plus for United is, there form has been so good in the Champions League that they’ve given themselves room to slip up tonight. But when United have their strongest team out, they’ll compete with a lot of the strongest teams in Europe and, as I said, I wouldn’t be too upset about tonight.

There’s five or six players in that team that played tonight that will not be in United’s strongest team. So Mourinho is looking at the bigger picture. Forget about tonight, move on and they’ll be competing to win this title, without a doubt.
