Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes Arsene Wenger will not be sacked because Gunners owner Stan Kroenke cares more about money than performances.
The ‘Wenger Out’ brigade have been in full-swing recently, with Arsenal having suffered four consecutive defeats in all competitions. They are currently facing a fight to hang on to a top-six finish in the Premier League, and the Europa League is their only chance of silverware and a place in the Champions League for next season.
88% of fans voted for Wenger to be removed from his position, in a vote at the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust AGM on Monday, and many critics believe it to be just a matter of time before they get their wish.
However, Parlour doesn’t think this to be the case. In fact, he believes the Frenchman will be safe in his position whilst Kroenke is making a profit.
Speaking to Alan Brazil on talkSPORT, the former England international said:
“Kroenke is not a football fan. He has not been brought up to enjoy football, he’s more into American football and has his franchises in America.
“He is at Arsenal for one reason – to make money.
“As long as the balance sheets are looking good, I don’t think he’s too worried about what happens [on the pitch].
‘While the balance sheets are good nothing will change!’
Ray Parlour says #Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke will have no interest in Arsene Wenger’s future and what happens on the pitch while the club’s finances are healthy…

Parlour, who won three Premier League titles and three FA Cup’s while playing under Wenger’s management, then went on to talk about how he understands the frustrations of the fans.
He insists that other clubs, such as Manchester City and Tottenham, have moved forward but Arsenal have stayed still or even got worse and this is why the fans are angry.
