Watch: ‘One Of The Most Lethal Strikers In Europe’ Expresses Manchester United Obsession… Again

Odion Ighalo has been a revelation in the Premier League this season and earlier this month, he announced that a move to Manchester United would be his dream.

With Jamie Vardy currently topping the Premier League goalscorer table with 16 strikes to his name, Watford’s Odion Ighalo lurks in second place having scored 14 goals this season.

Having hit the back of the net 20 times in the Championship last year, Ighalo led the charge as Watford went up as league winners. Since arriving in the Premier League, the Nigerian has seemingly taken to the top flight like a duck to water.

The 26-year-old’s talent has been so evident that several reports have now linked the former Udinese striker with a move to a number of top European clubs… chief among them are Manchester United.

Although the reports haven’t really garnered much traction as of yet (with it now looking extremely possible that United will not make any signings in this window) Ighalo recently decided to flash a bit of leg in the direction of Louis van Gaal and the Manchester United board by openly declaring that a move to Old Trafford would be his dream.

“I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called.” “They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV. They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream.”

Today, footage released on the FA’s official YouTube channel once again reinforced Ighalo’s infatuation with the under-performing side that resides at the so called ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

The interview is generally fascinating from start to finish as he explains in detail the old fashioned 4-4-2 partnership with Troy Deeney and why they work so well together. However, to skip forward to the part in which he once again drifts into Cole & Yorke la la land, you can skip forward to 1:39 in the video.

With United currently having severe difficulties in front of goal, many feel that the Nigerian striker would be exactly what the Red Devils need in the latter half of the season and they would be mad not to follow up Ighalo’s flirting with a serious offer.
