Jose Mourinho has garnered a reputation as one of football’s most unforgiving and cold-hearted men. Eva Carneiro, Luke Shaw and countless others can attest to that fact.
However, he’s not always the monster he’s made out to be, it seems. This heart-warming exchange with a young Blackburn fan, one of the mascots for Sunday’s game against Mourinho’s side shows there’s a warmer side to the Special One.

With the officials and teams preparing to take the field, the mascot perked up with a golden line.
“Don’t give yellows or reds to Rovers….give ’em to United.”
Mourinho’s reaction is brilliant.
If you’re wondering, referee Martin Atkinson booked one Blackburn player, Derrick Williams, while for United, Jesse Lingard and Ashley Young saw yellow.
The hosts produced a valiant effort in front of an unusually packed Ewood Park but United’s class won out in the end with Mourinho calling on the cavalry late on. The introduction of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic soon led to a well-taken winner from the latter.
