Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored a wonder goal in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Tanzania in the Super Eagles’ final African Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
Iheanacho’s 78th minute strike ensured that Nigeria maintained their undefeated record against Tanzania who finished in third place in Group G with just one point from four games.
The wonder strike marked Iheanacho’s fourth goal in six games for Nigeria as the 19-year-old continues to flourish for both club and country this year.
The win means Nigeria will finish runners up in Group G with Egypt winning the group on ten points from four games, after their final game with Chad was cancelled due to Chad having previously withdrawn from the competition on financial grounds.
Iheanacho will return to Manchester next week to link back up with Pep Guardiola’s squad who will face rivals Manchester United in a top-of-the-table clash at Old Trafford next Saturday.
