WATCH: Lionel Messi’s Sublime Free-Kick Which Saw Him Break Yet Another Record

Ezequiel Garay

What more can you say?

Most would argue he is the greatest player to ever grace the game and tonight Lionel Messi broke yet another impressive record as he became Argentina’s most prolific goalscorer, surpassing Gabriel Batistuta’s mark.

Playing the United States in the semi final of the Copa America Centanario, the Barca man curled this beauty past the hapless Brad Guzan:

As bad as the diminutive Argentine is from 12 yards, he is a sensational free-kick taker. What a goal. Twenty-eight yards from goal, the number ten placed it with surgical precision in the top right corner, wrong-footing the American ‘keeper.

And if that wasn’t enough class for one half, Messi also popped up with this superb assist.

His delightful chip lay it on a plate for Ezequiel Lavezzi who headed over Guzan to open the scoring.

A master at work.
