Watch: Juan Mata Scores An Own Goal & Misses From Two Yards vs Stoke

Juan Mata was certainly a bit off for Manchester United at the Britannia on Saturday afternoon…

After Liverpool somehow managed to drop three points at home to a struggling Swansea on Saturday morning, Manchester United had a huge opportunity to close the gain ground vs Stoke.

However, Mourinho watched his men falling 1-0 behind after Juan Mata managed to stick a lame leg in front of an effort from Erik Pieters which eventually found its way into the back of the Manchester United net.

Just over ten minutes later, Zlatan Ibrahimovic put it on a plate for the former Chelsea man to right his wrong. However, with the goal gaping, Mata somehow managed to balloon the ball well over the bar.

At the time of writing, United are still 1-0 behind with 45 minutes left to play. Whether Mourinho will elect to replace the misfiring Spaniard or give him another chance in the second half remains to be seen.
