Republic of Ireland internationals Robbie Brady and Jeff Hendrick combined twice on Tuesday night as Burnley earned a draw against Spanish side Celta Vigo.
Club-record signing Brady opened the scoring at Turf Moor with a sublime finish after some excellent build-up play.
Following a layoff from Hendrick, his Ireland teammate struck a superb first-time shot beyond the helpless Celta Vigo stopper.
Two goals in the space of three minutes saw Celta Vigo take the lead before the half-time mark, but Brady and Hendrick would link up again in the second half for Sean Dyche’s side.
This time it was Brady who would turn provider. He delivered a set-piece from the left-hand side that eventually found Hendrick in space just ten yards from goal.
Burnley have fivc Irish internationals in their first team squad, and Martin O’Neill will be boosted by the form shown by the contingent so far this pre-season.
Brady has now scored three times for the Clarets this summer, with new signing Jon Walters having found the net on two occasions.
Burnley will hope they can carry their pre-season form into the Premier League next week. They must face Premier League champions Chelsea in their opening fixture and will require something special if they are to leave Stamford Bridge with a result.
