Henrik Larsson has opened up about his only career regret in an incredible interview with former teammate, Chris Sutton.
Henrik Larsson is remembered as one of the greatest Swedish footballers of all time and perhaps, the greatest player in the history of Celtic Football Club.
However, when pundits look back at Larsson’s career, there is often a question mark over the striker’s career decisions and why it was that he spent so much time in Scottish football.
Asked about his time with Celtic and whether or not he regrets staying with the club for so long, Larsson immediately dismissed such notions stating that he will never think in that way. However, he then immediately stated that he did have a major regret about his brief stint at Manchester United.
‘Ya but I don’t regret that [staying at Celtic]. I still don’t do that. What I regret is that I didn’t stay on [at Manchester United], the full season there when I joined them. But I already promised Helsingborg that I would come back home because the league was starting in early April that year.
Because I’m almost certain that if I would have stayed I would have stayed another year as well. And that’s what I regret because the club was fantastic in the way that they looked after me in the family.
That’s the only thing I regret really in my career.’
