Wayne Rooney just scored a truly special goal for Everton…
After a dismal start to the Premier League season, Everton parted company with Ronald Koeman over a month ago only for fans to be left wondering if the club had any plan regarding a replacement.
In the end, Sam Allardyce was finally appointed with Everton confirming the news on Wednesday morning. However, for the Toffees clash with West Ham on Wednesday evening, the former England manager was watching on from the stands as Wayne Rooney brought a stuttering season back to life for Everton.
The first came from what initially looked like a disastrous scenario as Rooney had a penalty saved by his former international teammate, Joe Hart, only for the English forward to nod the ball in on the rebound.
The second was far tidier as the record Manchester United goalscorer tucked the ball into the bottom corner after a mishit shot found its way to him inside the box. However, Rooney really rolled back the years for his hattrick as the 32-year-old reminded everyone what he is capable of with an absolutely phenomenal effort from inside his own half.
