Gary Neville seemed to suggest that there was something very bizarre about a refereeing decision made during Bournemouth’s clash with Manchester City on Monday night.
After City took the lead courtesy of Raheem Sterling in the first half, the Sky Blues were left scratching their heads less than a minute later as Josh King rattled an equalizer home for the hosts.
However, the goal was quickly ruled out as someone spotted that King had pulled back his marker while running towards the City goal.
Speaking about the moment in question, Neville didn’t really suggest that the decision was incorrect but rather, how it was made.
When the foul itself was committed the referee was quite clearly looking in another direction, however he still whistled for the offence that he had not seen.
Analysing the incident, Neville stated that it had been clearly communicated to them that the referee had made the decision. However, the footage certainly suggests that wasn’t the case.
