Watch: Eye-Opening Footage Shows Why Mourinho Simply Has To Drop Wayne Rooney

Based on the footage below, Wayne Rooney would be doing very well to keep his place in the Manchester United first team this season.

Wayne Rooney isn’t exactly in most Manchester United fan’s good books having reportedly handed in two transfer requests in recent years. However, it’s the Englishman’s performances on the pitch which are now causing worry and, despite scoring a goal in the Red Devils opener at Dean Court, many United supporters are now suggesting that Rooney simply has to be dropped.

Although the English international is still only 30 years of age, in football, it is often the miles on the clock that count more than ones age. Rooney has being playing week in, week out since he was 16 at the very highest level, and it has looked, in recent seasons, as if those yards have already taken a serious toll on him.

Against Bournemouth, Rooney was slow and cumbersome. His first touch was dreadful and his passes often went astray. Speaking about the Manchester United forward over the weekend, former Red Devil Paul Parker, had some very harsh words to say about the current state of England’s record goal scorer.

“As much as people appreciate what he’s done over the years and how many goals he’s scored, football is about now and being judged on now. If someone had only heard of Wayne Rooney but seen him today they’d think, ‘Who is this fella? He’s overweight and slow. That shot was terrible, and it looks like he can’t move or shift his body quick enough.'”

Going by the footage below, Parker most certainly has a point…
