Shame they’re not on the same team…
Having completely dominated and outclassed Manchester United on Wednesday evening, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs were looking to keep the momentum going against Liverpool on Sunday.
However, after the Lilywhites took the lead against United after just 11 seconds on Wednesday, Spurs were on the receiving end of an early shock to the system at Anfield as Mohamed Salah gave Jurgen Klopp’s men the lead in just the third minute.
Arriving onto a loose ball after a scrappy passage of play in midfield, Eric Dier elected to direct a pass back to Hugo Lloris. However, the 24-year-old did not notice that Salah was lurking on the fringe of the Spurs backline and, what was intended as a backpass, transpired to be a wonderful through ball for the Egyptian forward.
Salah happily accepted the gift that was presented to him by his Spurs opponent and, at the time of writing, the Reds remain in the lead by a margin of one goal to nil.
