Gareth Barry put in a rather nasty little rake on David De Gea during Manchester United’s visit to the Hawthorns on Sunday…
With Manchester United battling to maintain a one goal advantage against West Brom in the dying minutes of their clash with West Brom on Sunday afternoon, David De Gea bizarrely squared up to Gareth Barry.
The United goalkeeper clearly seemed to accuse the Premier League veteran of stamping on him in some form or another but, after a brief replay was shown, it wasn’t immediately clear what had transpired.
However, footage of the incident has now shown up online and the former Manchester City and Everton man can clearly be seen sneakily raking his studs down the back of the Spanish goalkeeper’s calf as he attempts to distract De Gea from collecting an awkward ball that was bouncing in United’s six yard box.
It’s unclear at this moment in time whether any action will be taken against the 36-year-old but, based on the damning footage above, it wouldn’t be any major surpise if the West Brom midfielder found himself facing a charge for violent conduct.
