Watch: When Barcelona Played Las Palmas In Empty Camp Nou You Could Hear Everything

Last week’s troubles in Catalonia surrounding the independence referendum forced the La Liga fixture between Barcelona and Las Palmas to be played behind closed doors as Spanish police clashed with voters around the vacinity of the stadium.

What ensued was a unique match-up and a chance to see the biggest stars such as Messi, Suarez and co perform in a more intimate environment up close.

Badcelona ran out 3-0 winners on the day but it was the eerie silence in the colosseum that is the Camp Nou which this game will be remembered for.

Catching a glimpse of the stars of Barca in a light we have never been privileged to before, we can see exactly how much verbal back and forths there are between players and the referee, their teammates and opposition.

Gerard Pique comes across as a loud mouth in this particular clip below, as does Luis Suarez rather unsurprisingly, some would say, as he defends himself having been booked for diving.

It appears as though Messi is a man who let’s his feet do all the talking.
