With just one month remaining in the summer transfer window, the pressure on Arsene Wenger to strengthen Arsenal’s attacking options is increasing by the day.
Although Arsenal will head into the coming season with, arguably, the strongest midfield in the Premier League, the Gunners could certainly do with some reinforcements in other areas.
Per Mertesacker’s recent injury suggests that Arsene Wenger will almost certainly have to dip into the market for another centre back while, the majority of Arsenal fans are actively pushing the club to sign a new centre forward.
Although the club has been linked with countless strikers over the course of the summer, it now seems most likely that Wenger is set to make a move for a winger in the form of current PFA Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez.
Whether a centre forward will be signed along with the Premier League winner remains to be seen. However, speaking to the press this week, Wenger suggested that the Gunners are only looking to sign one more attacking player.
