Antonio Conte has lashed back at Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese boss seemed to suggest that the Chelsea boss was a ‘clown’.
On Thursday morning, reports began to circulate claiming that Jose Mourinho was considering resigning from his Old Trafford position at the end of the current season.
However, it didn’t take long for the Manchester United manager to lash back at the ‘garbage news’ while he simultaneously took the opportunity to fire some bizarre jabs at his managerial counterparts.
Asked about reports that he seemed unhappy in his job, Mourinho fired back with some comments that seemingly referred to Liverpool and Chelsea managers, Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte.
‘Because I don’t behave as a clown on the touchline, it means that I’ve lost my passion?’ Mourinho replied. ‘I prefer to behave the way I’m doing it. Much more mature, better for my team, better for myself.
‘I don’t think you have to behave like a crazy guy on the touchline to have that passion.’
The Chelsea boss was asked about the ‘Special One’s’ comments at his own FA Cup press conference on Friday afternoon and the 48-year-old didn’t hesitate to lash out at the Manchester United manager, suggesting that Mourinho was suffering from dementia.
