France emerged victorious in an eventful World Cup final on Sunday, capping a memorable 2018 event in Russia.
Didier Deschamps’ side proved themselves to be the best team in the world over the past four weeks, winning six of their seven games and dismissing the likes of Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium on their route to the final.
A number of players from a range of national sides have shone throughout that campaign – some were established stars, some were surprise packages, while some played their way into form as the tournament went on.
FIFA have declined to name a Team of the Tournament for these finals, as was the case in 2014 (though Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappe were handed the Best Player and Young Player awards), so we’re giving you the chance to have your say and tell us who you think should make the best eleven from this summer’s World Cup.
We’ve whittled the 736 players in Russia down to a handful of nominees for each position – vote now, and we’ll reveal the results on Monday evening.
