Last night, Barcelona’s second choice (cup) goalkeeper made one of the most outstanding saves ever witnessed in the Champions League.
When he signed for Barcelona, it was widely believed that the German stopper would be number 1 at the Camp Nou for years to come. However, an injury in the preseason meant that Claudio Bravo stepped in for the first league game and he has been there ever since.
Barcelona now operate a strange system whereby the Chilean Bravo guards the posts in all La Liga encounters, whereas Ter Stegan starts in all cup ties, both domestic and European.
Last night however, the younger German keeper may just have given Luis Enrique a selection head ache as he pulled off a double save that was arguably, one of the greatest stops ever witnessed in the Champions League.
Check out the phenomenal double save below and if you can think of any better options, be sure and let us know in the comments.
