Video: Tevez Lucky To Escape With Fully Intact Leg Following Horrendous Red Card Tackle

We’ve seen some dangerous tackles down through the years, but this latest one on ex-Manchester United man Carlos Tevez may have just taken the entire packet of biscuits by itself.

Though the majority of top level players stay down holding their leg as if they were shot when only tipped on the ankle these days, in this scenario we certainly can’t blame Tevez for not getting up immediately, such was the force of the tackle from behind in his latest game for Boca Juniors.

As the ball is played up to Tevez, out of the corner of your eye you’ll notice Lanus defender Gustavo Gómez hurtling towards the striker before slide tackling him with far too much force.

The referee’s decision couldn’t have been made much easier after seeing Tevez go flying into the air and landing unceremoniously on the floor.

In fairness to Gómez he did check to see if the former Premier League star was OK but he will know himself just how dangerous this tackle (watch below) was.

At least Tevez’s Boca side went on the finish out the game with a win. A Nicolas Lodeiro penalty and a goal from the tackle victim himself secured the Primera Division side safe passage to the next round of the Copa Argentina.
