He may only be 18 but it looks as though Jordan Larsson – the son of ex-Celtic and Manchester United striker Henrik Larsson – may have a bright future ahead of him if his finishing ability is anything to go by.
Playing for Helsingborg in the Swedish top flight yesterday the Sweden under-19 international scored two stunning goals, helping his side earn a 3-1 victory over AIK.
With his father – and manager as it so happens – watching, Larsson put his side ahead in the 21st minute with an inch-perfect effort sailing into the top left hand corner of the net.
The youngster wasn’t done yet however, as he then netted his second to put Helsingborg back in the driving seat after Henok Goitom had put the visitors level.
After some interplay at the edge of the area, Larsson timed his run into the box perfectly before dinking the ball delicately over the onrushing goalkeeper in as composed a finish as you’ll have seen all weekend.
It’s clear that his father – and now manager at the club – has passed on some of his genes as well as his wisdom of what it takes to play up front.
Jordan Larsson – remember the name.
