Video: Rodriguez Scores Identical Goal For Real As He Did In Video Game As A Kid

We all dream of one day playing for some of the biggest sides in world football. However, this is often only something that can be dreamt of, or alternatively, manifested through the playing of a video game.

This is exactly what a young James Rodriguez did, scoring an ‘up and down’ free-kick in a video game, years before ever even coming close to signing for Real Madrid. Even as an underage international for Colombia, one must assume Rodriguez knew just how small the chances were that he would ever grace the surface of the Bernabeu.

Since doing so however, the 23-year-old has only gone from strength to strength and his set-piece knowledge in video games looks to have prepared him well for the realities of taking frees in front of 85,000 fans.

In this incredible video below, the attacking midfielder scores a goal on the TV screen as a kid in identical fashion to the one he smashes in for Los Blancos years later.
