Video: Pelle Really Got Into The Rugby World Cup Spirit vs Manchester United

Southampton’s top marksman, Graziano Pelle, really got into the spirit of the Rugby World Cup today after opening the scoring against Manchester United.

Despite his native Italy losing their opening game of the tournament to France yesterday, Pelle was still clearly enjoying international rugby’s biggest event, so much so the 30-year-old celebrated his 13th minute strike by pretending to score a try beyond the end line.

Due to the inadequacies of his club’s defence however, United eventually went on to win the game with Anthony Martial stealing the show with two goals to put United ahead before Juan Mata added a third.

Pelle scored again towards the end but his celebratory antics were a little more muted this time around, knowing his side could only pull off a draw at best.

It’s far from panic stations yet for the Saints but a march back up the table will be needed sooner rather than later. They now languish in 16th whilst Man Utd move to second, just two points off Man City.
