Steven Gerrard leaves Liverpool as one of the club’s true greats, and in his final pre-match press conference yesterday it was clear to see how much this club means to the 34-year-old.
He will not end his distinguished Anfield career lifting a trophy but the Merseyside local can be proud to finish his playing time in England with the respect and admiration of his fellow professionals.
The Reds’ and Gerrard’s final home game of the season comes this Saturday against Crystal Palace with tickets for the game going for as much as £1,200, according to reports.
He ends his time at Liverpool having racked up over 700 appearances, winning two FA Cups, three League Cups as well as one FA Community Shield, the Champions League, one UEFA Cup and two UEFA Super Cups in his time with the Reds, along with a plethora of individual awards.
