Gary Neville is now widely accepted as the best pundit around and on Monday night football, he reminded everyone why.
Analysing Mourinho’s performance since returning to Chelsea, Gary Neville did what he always does. Speaking in a simple, matter of fact manner, he illustrated the turnover that The Special One has conducted since his return to the Bridge. And it was enthralling.
Neville began by looking at the aging squad Mourinho inherited two years ago, and then compared it to the team that just won the league.
He also ran through the manner in which the Chelsea manager has abided by FIFA Fair Play regulations in inventing this new look side.
When Mourinho took Chelsea over in the summer of 2013, they had just finished 14 points behind Manchester United in third position.
Since then, as Neville says:
He’s reduced the age, he’s won the league, and it is a far stronger squad.
