Arsenal are about to do a deal for Chelsea man Petr Cech but many have a fair case in claiming they already have a world class stopper in David Ospina.
Since making his breakthrough into the Arsenal first team, Ospina’s statistics have been the best in the Premier League. However, for some reason, the Colombian is still not very highly rated. So much so, that he is now being highly linked with a move away from the Emirates.
Whether a deal sees him leave or not remains to be seen but based on the below footage, it’s safe to say that whoever snaps him up will have done a hell of a deal.
Ospina was representing Colombia in the Copa America last night and the game ended 0-0 thanks to the heroics of the Arsenal keeper.
A ball into the box found Sergio Aguero but Ospina managed to stop a shot from point blank range. Then, with Lionel Messi thundering in on the airborn ball, what Ospina did next has to be seen to be believed.
Check out the phenomenal double save below.
Incredible and all as it was, that wasn’t it from Ospina. He also made a spectacular save from Otamendi in the dying minutes of normal time that some have said was even better than the Messi save.
Surely he has now given Arsene Wenger some food for thought regarding his potential sale.
