Why couldn’t he do this all season?
Angel Di Maria arrived to Old Trafford as one of the hottest talents in world football.
Having claimed the man of the match award in the very game that saw Real Madrid claim the highly coveted ‘Decima’, most expected the Argentinian whizz to light up the Premier League upon his arrival to Old Trafford.
However, after a strong start to the season, Di Maria’s performances seemed to fade to such an extent that he frequently found himself rotting on the bench.
With his season as a whole being viewed as such a failure, rumours have been rife over the past month that Di Maria may be on the move again this summer with both PSG and Bayern Munich mooted as potential destinations.
But in a positive turn of events for Manchester United fans, Di Maria only this week stated that his ambition was to stay at Old Trafford, and after this quality finish last night for his national side, perhaps fans of The Red Devils should already be looking forward to seeing a reignited talent on the left wing come August.
