Done Deal: Manchester United Finally Confirm Paul Pogba’s Return

The most incredible transfer in the history of football is finally complete. Paul Pogba has finalised his Manchester United return.

It was confirmed by the club yesterday that the Frenchman was set for a medical in their Carrington training complex. After passing the tests, he completed the formalities of the deal and on Monday the 8th of August, 2016, the transfer of the century was announced.

The news came from United’s official Twitter account.

Pogba, 23, returns to the English giants just four years after his infamous departure. A contract dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson, instigated by the player’s agent Mino Raiola, led to the starlet leaving for Juventus. A stellar career at the Bianconeri saw him become one of Europe’s most sought-after players.

He is the fourth and final signing of Jose Mourinho’s opening summer transfer window. He follows Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the doors of Old Trafford. It takes a serious signing to beat Zlatan to the headlines but the academy graduate may just have done it.

The fee is likely to be in the region of £100 million, eclipsing the previous record set by Gareth Bale’s 2013 move to Real Madrid. Can Pogba live up to his astronomical fee?

It remains to be seen.
