Two Huge Reports Claim Van Gaal Turns Down Job Offer As Mourinho Goes Into Panic Mode

It seems that the clouds of uncertainty have of no intention of lifting at Old Trafford in the near future…

Louis van Gaal’s position at Manchester United has been hanging by a tether for some time now and the majority of the media seem to be in agreement that the club will look to replace their under-performing manager this coming summer.

However, when it comes to who and when Van Gaal’s replacement will arrive, things become a lot more fuzzy. Several reliable outlets have stated with unwavering certainty that Jose Mourinho has a pre-contract agreement at Manchester United and that he will undoubtedly be the man to take over this summer.

However, several other highly regarded publications have simultaneously reported that the ‘Special One’ has not even been contacted by any Old Trafford representatives as of yet.

With each passing day it seems that the situation at Old Trafford is becoming more and more blurry rather than clearing up and today, two separate reports suggest that Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal are now at a total stand off.

Yesterday, reports emanating from a reliable Dutch paper claimed that Louis van Gaal will be staying at Manchester United next season and that the board have also agreed to give him significant funds to spend on new players.

Sir Alex Ferguson recently backed the misfiring manager in public and today, two separate reports have suggested that Jose Mourinho’s supposed ‘done deal’ is far from that.

Last week, stories claimed that the Dutch Football Association wanted Louis van Gaal as their new technical director as they look to rebound from their failed attempt to qualify for the 2016 European Championships. Today, it seems Van Gaal is so confident that his position at Old Trafford is secure that he has rejected the job offer.

With a number of the latest reports suddenly all pointing in the direction of another year of Louis at Old Trafford, The Sun have today claimed that Jose Mourinho has finally started to panic.

According to the English red top, it was in fact Sir Alex Ferguson’s recent public backing of the Dutchman that finally kicked the former Chelsea manager into action and he is now demanding a written assurance that he will be given the Manchester United job this coming summer.

Twitchy Jose Mourinho wants a written promise from Manchester United that he will be their new manager this summer.

The Special One has a verbal assurance that will be the case.

But Alex Ferguson publicly backed current boss Louis van Gaal last week, leaving the Mourinho camp fearing things could change. That is why he wants the job offer in writing, so he can start planning a future at Old Trafford.

It is still far too early to say if Van Gaal or Mourinho will come out on top in the battle for the Old Trafford hot seat. However, wherein a month ago the Dutchman looked like a dead man walking, all of a sudden, it seems as if he has a real chance of survival.
