Twitter Reacts As Tim Sherwood Goes ‘Classic Tim Sherwood’ During Swindon’s FA Cup Defeat

Tim Sherwood caused something of a stir last week when he was confirmed as Swindon Town’s new Director of Football.

The former Tottenham and Aston Villa boss has made no secret of his desire to return to management, so so take a role upstairs, at a League One club, was something of a surprise.

However, from the second he began speaking in his new role it was obvious he considers himself as Swindon’s manager, with current boss Luke Williams receiving a subtle demotion in the new regime.

As if to add further evidence to this theory, Sherwood made his debut on the Swindon dugout during their FA Cup first round replay at home to non-league Eastleigh on Tuesday.

With the home side falling behind early on, Sherwood (who isn’t the manager remember, he just happens to be in charge of transfers and picking the team) moved to the Swindon bench, two seats away from a markedly unimpressed Williams.

At one point, Sherwood even marched out on to the touchline to berate the struggling players (but is still totally not the manager).

Unfortunately for Sherwood, his intervention did not have the desired effect and Swindon succumbed to a 3-1 defeat.

Upon hearing that Sherwood had reverted to type less than a fortnight into his new job, Twitter was out in force to stick the boot in:

Tim Sherwood’s Luke Williams’ side will have a chance to atone for their FA Cup exit with a trip to Rochdale in League One this weekend.

Assuming he even still has a job by then.
