Twitter Reacts As Celtic Edge A Thrilling Old Firm Derby

Old Firm

Celtic went into Saturday’s Old Firm Derby hoping to extend their lead atop the table to a whopping nineteen points as the year came to a close.

Kenny Miller of Rangers, who infamously switched sides of Glasgow after playing for Celtic back in 2006, gave the Gers the lead early on in the game after some great football by Mark Warburton’s side.

Moussa Dembele’s stunning strike, which you can watch here, levelled it up going into half-time.

Celtic started the second half brilliantly and went close to taking the lead a number of times.

Scott Sinclair found what turned out to be the winner minutes later in what was almost a carbon-copy of Rangers’ opener.

Miller should have evened it up in the latter stages but his close-range effort hit the post.

The Hoops saw the game out expertly, sealing a huge win for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Next up for Celtic is a trip to Albion Rovers in the fourth round of the Cup while Rangers play host to Motherwell in the same competition. The two sides meet again in the league on March 11th.
